Sinopsis

Colin Smith is a working-class lad who lives in Nottingham, England, with his mother, her partner and his siblings. One day, he commits a robbery at a bakery and ends up in a reformatory. There, he discovers his passion for running, and thanks to his good results, his supervisors give him more and more freedom to train. During these outings, in the solitude of running, he reflects on his former life.

This film was shot in England in the early 1960s and is part of the Free Cinema movement. It was a low-budget film that dealt with many social issues and captured the lifestyle of that era in a very realistic and intimate way, especially that of the most disadvantaged social classes.
