Gus Van Sant
Alex is a teenager who frequents Paranoid Park, one of Portland's most notorious skateparks. A murder is committed in the vicinity of the park, leading the police to investigate the students at his school. Paranoid Park is a very special film. This is due both to Gus Van Sant's narrative structure and, above all, to the expressive resources and cinematic choices he uses to convey the emotional state of his protagonist. In fact, Paranoid Park is an internal film: rather than telling the story of an event, it 'reveals' Alex's thoughts and emotions.
