In this documentary, made almost entirely from footage shot with video assistance on the set of Ponette, Jeanne Crépeau shows the patience with which Jacques Doillon and his meticulous and talented team worked with the young actress, from the disastrous first day of shooting to the triumph in Venice, where four-year-old Victoire Thivisol won the Volpi Cup. In this raw material (rehearsals, retakes and footage between takes) we can discern a meditation on the mystery of acting.
